A Glimpse of Spring

Writer: SueSue

February is one of those months which doesn't last quite a long as January and has the promise of Spring to come.

My office window looks out across the countryside and whilst it is still a wintry scene with grey skies and low-lying mists, I can see two beautiful white egrets and delicate white snowdrops, often described as nature's first messengers as they come up through the frosts. A blanket of snow would make the scene ideal and in the last few days we've had weather which has definitely been cold enough for snow. So Mother Nature can put on a show!

With March around the corner, the garden and countryside will start to show more of nature's colours, the daffodils now blooming and primroses starting to form a carpet under the trees. Spring is my favourite time of year - I do actually love the summer months too, but Spring opens up the doors (sometimes literally!) to another year ahead, a time of change and renewal, and we can finally close the door on winter.
